A one day seminar on C. S. Lewis with Dr. Mcllroy

On September 30, 2023, with a group of our volunteers and some new friends, we went away from the noise of the city to isolate ourselves in a mountainous area in order to discuss quietly. We had the privilege of hearing from Dr. David Mcllroy on the topic of: What would C. Sl. Lewis say to the West today?”
Dr. Mcllroy pointed out that the British apologist had to say something on at least 5 current cultural trends:

  1. The pursuit of individual happiness at the expense of collective flourishing;
  2. The abandonment of real truth in favour of “what is true for me”;
  3. The replacement of a belief in objective values with personal preferences;
  4. The loss of meaning;
  5. The slide into tyranny.

The one day seminar provoked a thoughtful discussion among our group as well as provided a lot of opportunities to socialize.
