“Debate on Sexuality: How Impactful Were the Thoughts of Marx, Nietzsche, and Freud?”

We launched the year with a public lecture at the end of January on the topic:

“Debate on Sexuality: How Impactful Were the Thoughts of Marx, Nietzsche, and Freud?”

The reason we chose this topic was that last month, a

reality show in Albania featured three contestants who openly identified as part of the LGBT community and promoted their values publicly. The audience’s reaction was overwhelmingly supportive—a noticeable shift from past years.

Kaon highlighted the main arguments of these philosophers and how their ideas have directly or indirectly shaped modern thought regarding sexuality and identity. Many of them influenced society by promoting the idea that human purpose is simply to fulfill personal desires.

Nietzsche, for instance, declared that since “God is dead,” there is no objective moral standard—everyone should live as they please, and traditional Christian values are meaningless.

Some people in the audience agreed with these thoughts, while others asked how we can resist the temptation of these ideologies. Kaon responded by referring to the Bible perspective on Romans 12:2 – renewing of the mind with the truths of God .

There were nearly 50 people in attendance, most of whom were joining us for the first time

Over the past few weeks, we have been following up with the people who attended the event.
